Loving home needed for beautiful purebred Rough Collie

We are looking for a loving, dog aware/knowledgable, home for our almost 3 year old rough collie (long haired) Charlie - 'Sir Charles Barkly'!!
For information on rough collies please see http://colliefan.weebly.com/info.html for information on what is involved in the care of a rough collie dog.Rough Collies really are each as individual as people and in order for the rehoming to be successful it is essential to understand the unique natures of these dogs.
This is a very difficult decision for our family and we are open to the idea of a trial to see if Charlie is the right pet and companion for you. We have outlined our reasons for re-homing Charlie a home at the bottom of the advert.
****Charlie has had a retriever companion since he was a pup so we would strongly prefer a family looking for a companion for their current pet. He is very attached to his companion which has made the difficult decision even more so******
Charlie is a purebred tri-factored Sable/Mahogany Rough Collie, and we have been told he is a fabulous example of a show dog - however we learned this after having him desexed!! Charles is also fully up to date with his vaccinations, is in great health and microchipped.
About Charlie:
* Charlie is a quiet, sweet, extremely loving boy who would happily cuddle all day if given the chance. He is so affectionate sometimes he has a bit of a 'personal space' issue and you can find yourself with his nose on your ear while lying on the couch. He is a ginormous softie teddy bear!!
* We have an 18 mnth old little girl and Charlie is excellent with all children. Honestly, he doesn't really notice them, and will let them do whatever they like. Being raised alongside his companion dog he has learned 'doggie play' rather than human, however he is an amazing retriever who LOVES having thrown and fetching his ball, squeaky toy, teddy - anything really!! He only plays with his own toys.
* Charlie is very well trained.
He is fully house trained, and will ask and wait patiently to go outside. He can sit, stay, come, walk to heel on a lead, wait, move away (if we're eating etc) shake paws and it has never entered his head to run away - we live on a highway and he sits happily on the front porch. He has been taught never to beg and will not go near human food or tables while the food is there and people are eating, which is great with having little kids.
* He is an excellent guard dog, as are most rough collies, and is very protective of his family but only to the extent of barking at suspicious activity and acting as a visual detterent!!!
Charlie requires someone with calm, patient and sensitive personality as Collies are very sensitive. They shouldn't be left alone all day long without any interaction. His new home must be prepared to commit time for socializing, exercise, play and grooming. We would say that company, exercise and grooming are the most important aspects to consider.
Please also be aware that Collies are a medium to large, heavy dog, with grooming requirements. We find he needs grroming every 2-3 months (or more if you wanted).
We will provide whoever rehomes Charlie with a supply of his usual food, his bed, toys and loads of information about him.
Charlie requires a new, loving and commited home due to the fact that he is not able to get the proper care & attention he requires with us anymore. As Charlie's principal carer I have recently been diagnosed with a degenerative muscular condition. I am also pregnant with our second child. A toddler, new baby and inability to walk/groom/play with him mean that he is not getting what he needs in life, and he deserves better.
We aren't handing him over to a dog refuge so that if a trial wasn't successful he would come back to us- not risk being dumped. We are asking for payment for him as this was a big consideration for us when he was a pup, and we only want someone serious enough to understand the financial commitment of owning a dog too.
Thankyou
