The Tempest is a fantastic sea kayak. It is 17' or 518cm long, so it moves beautifully through the water. With a day hatch and two expedition hatches it is suitable for day touring and expeditioning alike.
It is a traditional skegged design which is the style of choice throughout Europe and growing here in Australia. Skegs suit those who are keen to hone their technique as rather than just pressing the rudder you learn to sweep, draw and edge. You can adjust the skeg incrementally which provides the appropriate weathercocking to hold an angle without effort in to the wind.
The seat adjustments and comfort and the thigh bracing are superb - Wilderness System is part of a group that manufacture high end whitewater kayaks so have access to their R & D.
I'm selling this kayak because I have upgraded to a Kevlar/Carbon kayak of very similar style.
